Nolvadex (tamoxifen) is a drug specially intended for the treatment and prevention of breast cancer in female patients. Talk to your health care provider before taking this medicine and tell him if you have a history of an allergic reaction to Nolvadex or any other medicines. This is necessary to make sure you get all the benefits of your treatment. Certain medical conditions you have may prevent you from safely taking Nolvadex and a dose adjustment will be required. The following ones are supposed to be reported to your health care provider: a history of cataract, high levels of triglycerides, a history of stroke or blood clot, or liver disease. Although an overdose of Nolvadex is not supposed to produce any life-threatening symptoms, you will need to seek emergency medical help if you happened to take too much of this medicine. All the drugs you are taking at the moment are supposed to be reported to your health care provider as soon as possible to make sure no interactions are possible. The following meds are especially important to report: heart rhythm medications, isoniazid, antidepressants, HIV or AIDS medicines, nicardipine, cimetidine, antibiotics, letrozole, rifampin, blood thinners, and any other prescription or over-the-counter products.
